Dr Dreadful – Terrifying Treats for Tiny Terrors
August 27th 2006 12:20
‘Crunchy Crusty Worms’ and ‘Bubbling Brains’ – sounds like something out of a really bad B grade horror movie doesn’t it? These delightfully explicit titles are actually the names of some of the varied candy treats you can make from a Dr Dreadful – Looks Good, Tastes Great kit.
Retailing for anywhere between $30 and $40, this kit is packed with hours of fun for the littlies – and the grown ups too. Whilst there is a definite mess factor involved, the ‘eww’ factor makes it extremely enjoyable.
The kit comes with all the ingredients and the moulds required to create creepy crawly creatures and other delightfully disgusting lollies. The moulds are reusable and would be suitable for freezing ice cubes, chocolate etc. You can also buy refill kits ensuring your money is well spent.
The Dr Dreadful kits are perfect for boys who like to ‘gross out’ their younger siblings. It’s also a great opportunity for parents to do something fun and creative with their children.
Dr Dreadful isn’t just for the children either. With Halloween fast approaching, your ghoul like party will be even more horrific when decorated with slippery spiders, wiggly worms and bubbling brains.
A word of warning, the taste factor isn’t all that great but imagine how much fun the kids will have! Or how scared your partner will be when they pull back their sheets to find a bed full of creepy crawlies!
Dr Dreadful kits are available at all good retail outlets.

The finished product. You could use food colouring or the coloured ingredients in the pack to make them more realistic.

Cibbuano - like all very intelligent parents, I made my son taste test it first!!! After seeing the look on his face I made an executive decision to have a biscuit instead!
